Screening

During this finals session, we will screen everyone's videos. Each of the projects has been loaded into a screening program. We will veiew the entire program, and then possibly play back through the program with open time for feedback and comments.

Semester Wrap Up

As we come to a close for ARTSTUDIO 388/488 it is important to highlight that you have all learned a great deal about how we work with motion and animations as artists and designers. We focused our attention largely on graphics and type with keyframing for animation. This is no small task because it requires us to work with a variety of software applications to generate content and create time-based compositions.

Our reading schedule supplemented our work in the studio. We started by looking at the historical roots of motion graphics in experimental film and animation. We then talked about the conceptual framework behind our animation software, After Effects. Following that we focused on some specific motion designers, creative coders, and film directors. And as the semester came to a close we discussed and used conceptual approaches to using motion graphics, animation, video, and advanced compositing techniques to create time-based media works.

As a final note, I would like to again encourage you to consider sharing your content online. If you use Vimeo, please contact our group and we can share your videos. If you use a different video sharing tool, send a link so we can follow along.
