Exporting Websafe
This assignment introduces the processes of exporting images in websafe formats appropriate for vector graphics. For our coursework, it is required to submit PNG files for assignments and projects. Exporting is regular part of our work flow for sharing a design or illustration. During a project or assignment a websafe image is easier to share than a work file, and can be accessed by anyone. At the end of a project or assignment an exported websafe image could be a final form used in a website or as an asset for a game.
Objectives:
- Demonstrate understanding of exporting websafe images
Process:
- New Illustrator Document: Letter Size (8 1/2 X 11)
- Create a rectangle as background
- Use Type Tool: "Exported PNG" and "Websafe"
- Modify Text:
- Choose typeface
- Choose color
- Resize appropriately
- File -> Export
- Select PNG
- Check "Use Artboards"
- Adjust name and location of exported file
- "lastname_TechExport.png"
- Export
- Submit assignment upon completion
- Submit one PNG
