Exporting For Print
This assignment introduces the processes of exporting images in formats appropriate for printing vector graphics. For our coursework, it is required to submit PDF files for projects and print project images. Exporting is regular part of our work flow for sharing a design or illustration. During a project or assignment a PDF is easier to share than a work file, and can be accessed by anyone. At the end of a project an exported PDF will be used for printing and submission of your designs.
Objectives:
- Demonstrate understanding of exporting print safe documents
Process:
- New Illustrator Document: Letter Size (8 1/2 X 11)
- Create a rectangle as background
- Use Type Tool: "Exported PDF" and "print safe"
- Modify Text:
- Choose typeface
- Choose color
- Resize appropriately
- File -> Save As
- Select PDF
- In PDF Dialog:
- Choose Press Quality Preset
- Unselect "Preserve Illustrator Editing Capabilities"
- Adjust name and location of exported file
- Save
- Submit assignment upon completion
- Submit one PNG
