We will start with an overview of our finalDiscussion topics. Reading assignments for the end of the semester are from the text "The Language of New Media" by Lev Manovich.
In-Class Demonstrations:
- Wiggler (random action)
- Select Property (Position for Example)
- Window -> Wiggler
- Set Two Keyframes with identical position, then select both
- Apply Wiggler with frequency and magnitude
- Opacity and Blend Modes
- Used for 'cross dissolve' appearances
- blend modes to alter how layers interact visually with one another

Project 4 Work Session
General project development should be organized as follows:
- Title Composition (appx. 5 seconds)
- Assets from Project 3
- Title of Game, Interface Elements, Background
- Layers organized and animated
- could include precompositions for project organization purposes
- Gameplay Composition (appx. 10-15 seconds)
- Assets from Project 1 & Project 2
- Size/Scale 'Environment' elements prior to putting in project
- Animate 'Environment' elements in layers
- 'Character' between layers and animated as necessary
- Final Composition (total 30 seconds or less)
- Title
- Transition
- Gameplay
During this work session, continue developing your project. The in-class work time available should be used for working on Project 4. Primary goal for class today is complete and submit the animation. There will be a demonstration for rendering/exporting a video of your animation. The project should be submitted by the end of the class session.
Rendering Animation
- Composition -> Add To Render Queue
- Output Module Settings Settings
- Format: Quicktime and uncheck "Project Link"
- Video Output: Format Options: Video Codec H.264 with Quality 80-90
- Size: standard mobile device screen
- Audio Output - Auto

- Output To:
- Choose location for saving
- Choose filename "lastname_project4_title.mov"

- Press "Render" button
- Wait for video to render (this part can take a long time)
- After render is complete, preview your video before submitting
- Preview your video before submitting
- Submit your video on D2L or by hand to teacher station
Once your video has been rendered and submitted, you are free to leave.
