The following is just one example and will be repeated in the following classes to reinfoce some of the strategies for developing your work for the project. Although we will be looking at the title screen, this process could be extended to a lot of the project work. The basic concepts presented here are the same that would be used later one when you are working on the gameplay portion. The difference is that there would be a longer duration and that the motion design might include more. All parts of the project begin with how you prepare your files in a format that makes them usable for animation.

Whatever time is left in the rest of the class session is yours to begin working on the project. The in-class work time available should be used for working on Project 4. That way we can work together on the project and you can get feedback or suggestions while you are working. There will be plenty of time to work in class on the project, but you may need to continue your work outside of class in order get everything done. Although work sessions in class have been fairly flexible, you are expected to have something to work on during class - anything else would be reflected in your course participation score.
Project 4 incorporates elements of your previous work. Reivew the project guidelines as needed. There will be two large parts to the Project - the title and the gameplay. There is not one specific way that they must be done but the timing guidelines will be helpful in determining what is needed.
Continue working on Project 4. Professor Miller will work together with you to give feedback or suggestions while you are working.
During this class session, you should work to finalize your animation. You will have the entire class session to work. It is expected that you will take the entire class session to complete your project work. Most students will not be in a position to submit work until close to the end of the class session.
Prof Miller will meet with each student to preview their work in progress. Each student will play their work and then discuss how they might finalize and complete the project. Some feedback will be given as to how the projects can be improved or developed further. This will take place at the beginning of class.
An overview of how to render your video for submission will be given later during the class session. This is the last opportunity to develop and complete your work for Project 4 and is our last official class meeting. All work must be completed and submitted this week. Final deadline for submission is Thursday, May 4. Project submissions will be evaluated based on the criteria in the Project 4 description. Each animation will be examined as part of the evaluation process and then all of the projects will be compiled into one long video for screening at our scheduled final exam time. Questions about submission expectations should be addressed in class today.
Submissions can be made through d2L or by hand to the teacher station.
Based on our Project Description page:
Videos will be screened from those submitted in class
